Tower Farm uses advanced methods and technologies to further farming in
Western, New York.
Currently, we grow asparagus, apricots, nectarines, peaches, sweet cherries, plums, and pears. We grow over 18 varieties of apples including Gala, Zestar, Premier Honeycrisp, Golden Supreme, Honeycrisp, Macintosh, Cortland, Shizuka, Empire, Snapdragon, Fuji, Crispin, Golden Delicious, Ambrosia, Idared, Rome, Pink Lady, Ludacrisp and Evercrisp.
The apple trees pictured, are very unique. They were planted on a 45 degree angle, all facing north, and tied down to a bottom wire. The upright shoots coming off are brought up vertically and spaced 18 inches apart. At the time of planting, our miltileader apple production orchard was the only one like it in North America. Later, we learned that MSU had a small test planting, like ours, put in the same year.
